Altangerel Ayurzana is a widely recognized antique art collector and one of the leading antique art experts in Mongolia. He has specialized in collecting, curating and researching Mongolian antique art for the last 15 years. When Mongolia stepped into a new, democratic era in 1989-1990, Altangerel promptly took advantage of the new cultural, religious and economic freedoms and began to collect cultural and religious artifacts of Mongolia. In the spring of 2004, in partnership with his spouse Dulamsuren Sukhee, he founded the "A & D Museum of Art" based on their 15 years' of ceaseless effort to preserve the antique art of Mongolia. The museumcollection contains superb examples of the Mongolian traditional art and some of these works of art are presented on this website (all artifacts that appear on this website have been carefully vetted and authenticated).
At the time when the Mongolian government was unable to effectively support the preservation and promotion of the national cultural heritage, Altangerel and Dulamsuren, private citizens, have taken on the challenging task of collecting and preserving priceless pieces of antique art found on the territory of the Eurasian steppes. Their ultimate goal is to contribute to the preservation of Mongolia's historical and cultural heritage for the benefit of all ethnic Mongols as well as all citizens of the world interested in the Mongols' contribution to global history, culture and art.
